Jurat vs. acknowledgment
If your form says 'subscribed and sworn to before me,' you need a jurat: you must sign in front of the notary and swear the contents are true. If it says 'acknowledged before me,' you can have signed earlier and simply confirm the signature is yours. When a form has no certificate at all, you — not the notary — choose which one the receiving party requires, and we attach the correct Virginia-compliant wording.
Blanks, attachments, and exhibits
We cannot notarize a document with blank spaces that materially change its meaning, and we cannot tell you what to write. Fill in every field except the signature line before your appointment, and bring any exhibits already attached so the affidavit stays a single, tamper-evident package.
