1. About Our Services

Ramsey Signature Services provides the following services, which may be offered independently or in combination:

• Traditional (in-person) notarization
• Remote Online Notarization (RON)
• Loan signing agent services
• Real estate brokerage services, provided through Samson Properties (Elitan Group)

Please note: Notary/RON/loan signing services and real estate brokerage services are legally distinct. Engaging one service does not create an agency relationship or obligation related to the other.

2. Notary and Remote Online Notarization (RON) Terms

2.1 Licensing and Authority

Priscilla Ramsey is a notary public commissioned by the Commonwealth of Virginia and, where applicable, registered with the Virginia Secretary of the Commonwealth as an electronic/remote notary in accordance with the Virginia Notary Act (Va. Code § 47.1, et seq.).

2.2 Identity Verification

For RON sessions, all signers must complete identity verification through credential analysis and/or knowledge-based authentication (KBA), and must appear via live two-way audio-visual communication, consistent with Virginia RON requirements.

2.3 Recording and Retention

All RON sessions are recorded and retained for a minimum of five (5) years, as required under Virginia law. By using our RON services, you consent to being recorded during your notarial session.

2.4 Fees

Notarial fees charged comply with Virginia's statutory fee caps, currently up to $10.00 per traditional notarial act (effective July 1, 2024) and up to $25.00 per remote online notarial act. Fees are due at or before the time of service unless otherwise agreed in writing.

2.5 Scope of Notarial Duty

A notary public's role is limited to verifying identity and witnessing signatures. Ramsey Signature Services does not provide legal advice, and nothing in a notarial session should be construed as legal advice or a substitute for consultation with a licensed attorney. We cannot advise on the contents, legal effect, or suitability of any document presented for notarization, and we may decline to notarize any document at our sole discretion if we have concerns about its validity or the signer's identity, willingness, or capacity.

2.6 Document Responsibility

Clients are solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of documents presented for notarization or signing. Ramsey Signature Services is not responsible for errors, omissions, or legal deficiencies in client-provided documents.

3. Real Estate Services Terms

3.1 Licensing

Priscilla Ramsey is a licensed real estate salesperson/agent in the Commonwealth of Virginia, affiliated with Samson Properties (Elitan Group), and operates under the supervision of that brokerage in accordance with Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) requirements.

3.2 Agency Disclosure

Virginia law requires written disclosure of agency relationships. You will be provided with the required Virginia Agency Disclosure documentation at the appropriate point in any real estate transaction. No agency relationship is formed through mere use of this website.

3.3 Fair Housing

Ramsey Signature Services and its affiliated brokerage are committed to full compliance with the federal Fair Housing Act and the Virginia Fair Housing Law. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, elderliness, familial status, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, military status, or any other protected class.

3.4 No Guarantee of Outcome

Real estate market information, valuations, and timelines shared through this website or in consultations are estimates only and are not guarantees of sale price, purchase price, or transaction timing.

4. Website Use

4.1 Appointment Booking

By booking an appointment through this website (including via any integrated scheduling tool), you agree to provide accurate contact and identification information and to attend or cancel appointments in accordance with our cancellation policy below.

4.2 Cancellation Policy

Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to forfeiture of the booking deposit. Please contact us as early as possible to reschedule.

4.3 Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, graphics, logos, and branding, is the property of Ramsey Signature Services and may not be reproduced without written permission.

4.4 Prohibited Use

You agree not to use this website for any unlawful purpose, to misrepresent your identity, or to submit fraudulent documents for notarization.

5. Payments

Payments for Services may be collected via Stripe or another secure payment processor. All fees are disclosed prior to service. Notarial fees comply with Virginia's statutory caps described in Section 2.4. Real estate commissions, if applicable, are governed by a separate written agreement as required under Virginia law.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted under Virginia law, Ramsey Signature Services shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of this website or our Services. Our total liability for any claim arising from notarial or real estate services shall not exceed the fees paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim, except where limitation of liability is prohibited by Virginia law (including with respect to notarial misconduct, which remains governed by Va. Code § 47.1, et seq.).

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ramsey Signature Services from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your submission of fraudulent, inaccurate, or unauthorized documents, or your breach of these Terms.

8. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or our Services shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Loudoun County, Virginia.

9. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of this website or our Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
